Dear students and families, I extend a warm welcome to you and as we embark on this exciting new academic year, I am filled with a sense of optimism and anticipation. GYC is not just a place of learning but a community where each student is supported to discover their potential and aspirations, where spiritual growth is nurtured and where everyone is respected and diversity is celebrated.

We have planned a year full of engagement, innovation and opportunities for growth. Our dedicated staff is committed to providing a supporting a challenging environment for all our students. Term 1 First Day Back
Wednesday 7 February 8.45am

Uniform for the first day is formal school uniform. You can also download the timetable for the first week back.

Absentees

1. For new parents if your child is absent this can done using this form. In the future this will be reported via the Connect platform. Details coming soon.

2. For existing parents this can be done via Parent Access Module (PAM).

Bus Timetables

You can download the Metro Bus Tasmania communication which lists all the changes that affect students at GYC.

Please note the inter campus bus timetable is included in the Week 1 timetable.

Administration Office Opening Hours

Term time office hours are now in operation from 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Timetables

For new students individual timetables will be issued during their first day. For returning students these are available via the Simon Learning Management System.

Monday 5 February
9.30am - 11.30am

Should students wish to change courses, there is an optional course change morning on Monday 5 February from 9.30am - 11.30am. This will take place on both campuses. Students should report to the Administration Office at Glenorchy or Hobart.

Students are required to bring a copy of their course selections (if available). If they aren’t sure they can check our Learning Management System Simon (Login required) or call the office if they do not have access. No course changes will be made via email or phone.

During the first three weeks, students may request course changes if they align with their learning pathway. Requests to change lines, teachers, or classes to be with friends are not considered unless there is an extenuating circumstance. As young adults, we encourage our learners to develop more autonomy in their learning environment and believe it is important to develop new social interactions. Please note that some classes will be full and course changes into these may not be possible. In this instance, we will place interested students on a waitlist.
